peach or coral

blues - with a green, violet or purple hue
Try using these shades to accent and bring out your best features. Don't overuse, try them as accents to basic colors and see the difference.

Etsy Changes - Going Underground
Etsy has forced many of us underground.
As I reviewed what etsy has changed, constantly giving my buyers so many avenues to leave my shop, after I have worked so hard to bring them in, I have come to the very difficult decision to keep my favorites private.
This pains me in many ways as I love promoting my fabulous good taste to others.
And etsy has so many shops and items that need to be seen!
I have come up with an idea and maybe it won't work, but I plan to add a link, every day to a shop that I love! I will send this link out on facebook and on my twitter. I will also post it on my blog, on
blogspot.

Hope you will give someone the thrill of many views and you just might find something you like.

Love That Handbag
So you have just plunked down hundreds of dollars for that special handbag.
You have wanted it for a long time now.
It's beautiful!
Keep it beautiful!
Never set your handbag on the floor. Do you know what may be on, lets say a restaurant floor? Yuck!
Keep stuffing in the handbag when not using. I use tissue paper. Make sure not to over or under stuff. This will help keep the shape of the handbag.
Use the dust cover bag to store the handbag. If you don't have one, a pillow case will do. The idea is to keep the handbag free of dust.
Put a couple of sandwich baggies in the purse. Use them to store pens, eliminating ink marks on lining. This also works for makeups that can open or melt inside the handbag.
Another good use for baggies in a purse is for receipts that tend to get thown into your bag. Not only will this keep you organized, but will keep ink from the receipts from harming anything.
Keeping other things clean that you will put into the handbag - wallets, cellphone covers, etc. will also help to save the lining.
Never set anything on top of the handbag. This can lead to dents on the purse and I see so many like this especially if they are patent leather. Store flat bottom handbags on a shelf, upright. I like to hang bags that have a rounded bottom.
Clean and condition your handbag on a regular basis. I am lucky to have a shoe repair shop close to home, where I can buy what I need. But there are good products on line. Always follow the recommendations of the handbag manufacturer, as well as the directions on the product you are using. Also pre-test on a very small area of the purse in an area that will not be noticed. Depending on what the purse is made of will determine how to clean it.
Love that handbag and you will get many years of use from it.
And someday, someone like me will come along and treasure it again.

Recycling
The other day I was talking to a friend who was so proud of how much she recycles. I mentioned that I sold retro and vintage clothing.
The same friend was agasp at the fact that I sell, as she put it "used clothing".
"I would never wear someone elses' clothes!" she said, and I quickly changed the subject.
I wonder if there is a large portion of population who feel this same way?
To me, who has bought clothing and other things at garage sales and thrift stores most of my life, this is the most fun way to recycle. Sometimes it is more fun than others.
Finding a Diane von Furstenberg wrap around dress or a Coach handbag that was made in New York is thrilling.
Other friends say that they hate digging through boxes at garage sales, or sifting through racks of clothing at a thrift store. It just isn't their bag!
That is music to my ears, because the hunt is my favorite thing. Once found, it becomes work - cleaning, repairing etc. But when you love your work...
Recycled clothing has it's benefit.
If you are not a follower, but an indiviualist, you will have a style that is not like anyone else.
Think of the eras that you have to choose from.
Mix it up with the latest fashion, or go all the way.
A vintage corduroy jacket with some hot new jeans, a vintage hippie style blouse and last year's boots will get you noticed.
Wear a summer 1970's shirtwaist dress with a 1960's clutch handbag and some sandles from the 1980's.
Most vintage and retro items are made better. Back then, clothes were made to last.
